Everett Gears Up for 2026 FIFA World Cup Fan Zone

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches, Everett is set to play a significant role by hosting an official Fan Zone, providing a vibrant hub for soccer enthusiasts and visitors alike. This initiative is part of a broader regional effort to capitalize on the global event, with nearby Seattle hosting several matches.

The Greater Everett Chamber of Commerce recently organized a ‘Game On Everett’ Lunch & Learn event to discuss the city’s plans for the Fan Zone. The session highlighted various activities, including watch parties, waterfront events, and community programs designed to engage both residents and tourists. Local businesses were encouraged to participate and explore opportunities arising from the influx of visitors during the tournament.

Speakers at the event included Tyler Chism, Economic Development and Marketing Manager for the City of Everett; Tammy Dunn, Executive Director of the Snohomish County Sports Commission; Cat Soper, Business Development Director at the Port of Everett; and Wendy Poischbeg, CEO of the Greater Everett Chamber of Commerce. They collectively emphasized the potential economic and cultural benefits for the community.

Everett’s designation as a Fan Zone community is expected to attract thousands of visitors, offering local businesses a unique chance to showcase their offerings and contribute to the festive atmosphere. The city plans to host official waterfront Fan Zone events at Boxcar Park, among other locations, to create an engaging experience for all attendees.
